Check your current DNS setup

From a terminal

  1. Run dig +trace www.yourdomain.com

  2. Check your output. There are few interesting things to note. We’re mostly interested in the last section.

See the line www.example.com. 86400 IN A 93.184.216.34? This means that “www” is pointing at 93.184.216.34. It has a TTL of 86400 seconds (24 hours), meaning that any DNS changes will take up to 24 hours to be completely propagated globally.

Also interesting are two lines that look like example.com. 86400 IN NS b.iana-servers.net.. This tells you your DNS hosting company, where you control your DNS configuration.
